Shoestring Independent Television (SIT)

Soon we'll be launching our YouTube Channel. That's pretty common place nowadays. Many people, companies and organizations use YouTube as yet another means of social media, and a way to connect to more people. But we had a differnt kind of idea when we talked about having a YouTube channel. We thought, maybe YouTube could be yet another way for us to unite filmmakers. Maybe, we could treat it like a real (television) channel. We could be a facilitator and instead of indie filmmakers each starting their own YouTube channel, they could come to us and we could put up content from a bunch of independent filmmakers. Sure, there would be some variety, there would be a range of content that makes its way to the channel, but all the content would be coming from the same types of people--independent filmmakers.

Think of this idea as a kind of online public access channel. But we don't want this just be an outlet, we want this to be yet another form of collaboration and possibly, down the line a way that independent filmmakers can start to make a living off of their content. Our vision is for independent filmmakers and production companies to come together, share this online space and have a YouTube channel that goes beyond what you would normally find online. We want to become a one-stop shop for independent film content.

All that being said, we're doing our part to start to get content out made, but remember, this whole idea is about collaboration, and all of us coming together, so we need filmmakers to join in this initiative. If you have an idea for a show/web-series and you want to jump aboard then let us know. Heck, we even have 17th & Grand Productions to help out with the production of the show if you need it. Let's make something awesome.
